travel to china

I work in Richmond, British Columbia, and many of my co-workers are from China, or have a large part of their families who live there. I hear great stories from them, I love the cuisine and culture I experience in Richmond and learn from my co-workers. I want to go and experience it. Where will/should I go? Hong Kong, Shanghai? Not sure but i’m getting great input from my co-workers.
