Catching up...

Well my last entry was in August 2010 and since then I have managed to be susccesful.

I have lost 30 lbs and managed to keep it off. I’ve decided that since I am so close I want to drop the last few pounds so that I’m at a “healthy weight” based on my BMI. But I’m not going to start there, I’m going stay on this healthier path (as much as possible) for the rest of my life.

Depression can hurt the waistline....

So I gained back ten pounds – oh joy – because I’ve been exhausted and depressed.

For the last month and a half I’ve been doing two jobs full-time at my office and it has really taken it’s toll. I was recently promoted but until they hired a replacement for me was required to do both jobs.

The workload for my original position was insane enough but the last 6 weeks have been killer. Even my poor dog is suffering, in the sense that I’m too exhausted to play when we go to the dog park so unless there’s someone for him to chase we just walk around or he swims. Poor little man.

Anyway I have all of next week off and I’m going to use that time to get my head on straight and find my focus again. It might also be helpful if I found other ways of managing stress…but I will be on vacation so I don’t want to make too much work for myself!
Haha!

A year in review

So this January I started thinking about where I was last January and I realized something huge! I accomplished this goal without really paying attention to it. I am 22.4lbs lighter than I was at this time last year. And better yet I am within 6lbs of where I was when I went on vacation with my girlfriends and dared to be seen a in bikini. Hmmmm, I wonder if I can forget about losing another 10 to 15 lbs…lol I’ll work on it.

I love happy surprises like that….now back to my yummy beef stirfry lunch.

A triumph of sorts!

So I found out over the weekend that my scale is broken. But it’s a good kind of broken (if there is such a thing lol). It would seem that the scale didn’t survive the move too well because it was off by 8.4 lbs. Ouch! I know that’s huge but it was off on the right end of the spectrum…turns out I weigh 8.4 lbs LESS than I thought I did!

What a nice surprise…this goals is a measly couple pounds away.

Love IT!♥

End of week 2

And I’ve lost another 2 pounds!

Not as great as week one but it’s still 6lbs in 2 weeks which is great for. I mean have you ever picked up a 5lb bag of potatoes? It’s pretty heavy and I’ve lost that! Yay!

May 4, 2009

I’m loving this new regimen I’ve chosen.

I’ve lost 4 pounds in the first week!! Yay! I’m even starting to lose track of time when I’m at the gym and I’m starting to feel stronger and I definiely have more energy.

I think what’s helping me is that I allow myself “treats”. On the weekend I bought brand new workout clothes and every day after a workout I take advantage of the massage chairs at the gym and I settle in for a nice 15 minute massage. The perfect way to end a workout!!

Getting more actice in my day to day life...

I’ve decided that it is important to be active every day. Not just going to the gym every couple days but doing things every day that keep me moving.

Whether that’s going for a walk after dinner to explore my new neighborhood. Trying out new bike trails (when it warms up of course lol). Renting a movie but walking to the video store. Taking clean laundry from the laundry room upstairs right away instead of stopping on the second floor. Little things…but they add up.

www.sparkpeople.com is a great website that helps me stay motivated because I can track and log my progress and chat with other people working towards the same goals.

This little world wide web is fantastic. :)

Ugh!

So by August of 2008 I had completed this goal, surpassed it actually but then I got sick.

My doctor told me to stick primarily to the BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast) until after my surgery. Well that meant that I put weight on again because I couldn’t exercise at the rate that I had been because it made me feel worse.

Since my surgery, my eating has (thankfully) gotten back to normal but not the exercise, in the traditional sense anyway. Following my surgery I was stressing about my impending move but the move went well and I got my exercise carrying boxes upstairs. So now that I am settled in, eating properly and have everything back in focus I am prepared to demolish this goal. Yay me, I have never been so determined and knowing that I can do it makes all the difference!

whoops long time no write!

Well, I’ve lost 14 pounds so I’m almost there. And if I were to really think about it I’ve lost more than 14 because I keep going up and down. But those 14 are gone for good… I DON’T WANT THEM BACK!! Wherever they went they are welcome to stay there! heeheehee _

wow...long time.

So I’m back at this.

I’m taking special care in what I am eating and working out at the gym 5 to 6 times a week. And what do I have to show for it so far? Well this past week I lost 6 pounds and there’s no more muffin top! Yay, that’s a nice start!
