Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

One of my favorite places..

I need to come here more.

It’s close and affordable and I absolutely love the decor.

:)

Walking!

I went for a short walk over by El Dorado park today, right before dark. Everything is so green it’s absolutely beautiful. I love walking over here. :)

Yes please...

I really need to work on this goal. I’ve been letting things slide and it’s time to let all the fun wonderful yummy things into my life. I know I deserve it. Time to let go of the old to allow the new wonderful beautiful fabulous me!:)

Yes!

I need to do this goal again

I’ve been feeling the blahs lately and it’s hard for me to even appreciate things that I’m grateful for. I know what’s wrong. I’ve been too stuck worrying about stupid little mundane things. One thing that I’ve learned is if you focus on something a lot you tend to attract more of that… good or bad. Focusing on silly little things depletes my energy, and now it’s time to build it back up.

This will be fun!

Today ..

I went hiking on one of my *favorite trails & had an AMAZING time.. followed by a nice hot bath to soak my wore muscles.

I even found a new flower that I’ve never seen before! What a great hike!

walking..

I decided to walk in Bluff Park today. I forgot how much I throughly enjoy walking in this area. The vibration is different in this part of town. I love the grand craftsman houses with the front porches .. everyone is friendly (for the most part) and the ocean breeze clears out the air. I’ve been walking in my neighborhood a lot over the past year or so and I just realized how depressing it is. It’s a very subtle thing but I think it’s true, you become like your environment gradually over time. .. Time to upgrade!

Urban Exploring

Wow!

(I know my last post also started with ‘wow’ and rightfully so)

I just did my first urban hike and loved it!! I had *such a good time. I did this hike with a group, which was absolutely fabulous. We started out at my favorite coffee shop in the Arts District and explored Boyle Heights /East LA area. It was great to be out walking in the sun, exploring, taking pictures, seeing new things, and making new friends. I never realized how much I absolutely love exploring .. and now I have someone to do it with! Oh man, I want more of this. Life is awesome.

Yes!

OMG my hike yesterday was absolutely fabulous!!! Wow, I am sooo glad I listened to my instinct (to go despite the fact that it was practically raining & 20 MPH winds were forecasted)!!

The hike was absolutely amazing and the sun came out -just in time for my hike! I bundled up (it was cute .. I looked like I was going to Alaska or something lol) .. and tried to stay in the sun as much as possible. It was great. The winds didn’t kick in until the very last leg of the hike .. suddenly creating an urgency to get back to my nice warm car.

I feel very lucky and blessed.

I absolutely love hiking in Malibu. :)

Going hiking today! Not sure what the weather will be like – Weather.com says high winds and chance of rain.. All I know is that I have to go.

Malibu is calling my name. :)

Mission Inn ..

I’m doing it. I’ve been on the fence about staying here again (primarily due to my new dogs – they’re indoor dogs & need someone to be let them outside). I’ve been getting the message that they will be fine: I need to just book it and go.. go enjoy myself .. get away from everything & have a wonderful adventure, have a wonderful time.

So I booked it this morning. I’m so excited! I haven’t really truly had time to myself in 4 or 5 months and it’s way overdue.
This feels good. :)
