11. Watterson Towers

The tallest dorms in the state. There’s a beautiful view from the top and a goofy elevator system throughout the building.

9. The David Davis Mansion

This was the home of politician David Davis. It’s open for tours and private parties and is absolutely gorgeous. Davis was good friends with Abraham Lincoln who visited this house on a number of occasions.

8. The Children's Discovery Musuem

This is a wonderful place for kids. It’s three levels of fun and educational play areas for kids of all ages, and we spend a lot of time here during the colder months.

7. The Normal Theater

This is our local independent movie theater. Going here is always a treat. They show classic and indie films, have the best prices in town, and the decor is beautiful.

6. Project Linus National Headquarters

I’ve seen people with Project Linus goals listed here on 43 Things, but I had no idea my community is home of the organization’s national headquarters. I just stumbled across it today during a Sunday drive.

5. Milner Library

This is the library I’ve worked at for the last 10 years. I’m now up on the tippy top floor. The building is hideous inside and out, filled with leaks and generally falling apart.

3. Redbird Arena

Here’s a view of ISU’s basketball court. Redbird Arena is the home for most of ISU’s college sporting events, tons of high school athletics, and the occasional concert. I saw Bob Dylan play here years ago.
