Not there yet but still...

Ok, so I am not my own boss yet… but I am definatelly much closer then I was… now I have a team of people that I manage, and I am appreciated for the things I do… Still not my own boss, but much better then i was before

Who doesn't want to be his/hers own boss?

Being your own boss has many advantages and disadvantages:
1. You answer only to yourself - There isn’t someone telling you what to do or when to do it. You can sleep all day long if you want to, or just don’t feel like working that day. If you do double the work the next day, so be it. You do it for yourself, you chose to do so yourself, not because you were TOLD to do so.
2. Getting all the credit / benefit – This is probably the second reason people want to work for themselves. You get all the credit / benefit. You know that your hard work will be appreciated, because you do that for yourself, you will get all the benefits from your work. But if you are your own boss, there is no slacking off. There is no one to cover for you
3. Reward and motivation – You are your own boss, so you get the whole reward for your work and not just some paycheck. I don’t know about other people but for me this is the biggest motivation I can get. You work hard, do a good job and you are rewarded for it. But then again if you do nothing you get nothing. If you haven’t lifted a finger, you get nothing. There isn’t a paycheck at the end of the month. After all you reap what you saw.

For me the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. What about you, do you thing you have what it takes to be your own boss, or do you prefer the safety of your day job?
