Not lightening fast, at 35mins, but not a bad showing considering it was 39degrees with a fairly stiff wind.
Next up – 10K in April

The Holiday Lights run is this Saturday. I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll be above freezing – and if I can’t have that I would settle for no wind. I wonder if running in a parka is going to effect my time?
I came down with the H1N1 and it really put me off my game. Today after work is the first day in 2? 3? weeks that I’ve been to the gym or worked out in any fashion other than the standard Cough-Cough-Sneeze-BlowNose abs routine. You could bounce a quarter off them.
I won’t be up for the Guiness Pub Run (drat!), but I will definitely be doing the Holiday Lights Night Run on Dec. 12th.
Monday – 3.6 miles
Tuesday – 2.5 miles
Wednesday – 1.45 miles
Thursday – 3.25 miles
Monday – 4 miles
Wednesday – 3.6 miles
Today (Thursday) – 2 miles
Sweet BabyJesusInANinjaSuit, the weather around here is crazy. Two weeks ago, terrible ice storm and three feet of snow. This week 70degrees and downright balmy.
I’ve found that the humidity effects (or is it affects? I can never get those straight) my time on the runs (slower) and how I feel during (craptacular). What is up with that?
Still slogging through it though. Averaging this week at 2.5 miles in 30 mins. I’m having trouble getting over the hump to 2.7.
By Saturday I was feeling a little more human, and I was able to resume my training. The first day felt great, despite the fact that afterward I coughed so hard it made my eyes water. I’ve run three times this week, 2.5 miles. My time has been decent but not where it was. I should be back on my game by next week.
Still down with this stupid plague. I sound like someone with emphysema who’s still sucking down a pack a day through their trache-tube. It is very NOT GOOD.
Which of course means I will have gone a whole week now without running. This is really putting me behind in my training schedule for the Feb. race. If I could feel any worse I would.
I keep telling myself better to wait a week now and recuperate fully, than push it too soon and be out two weeks as a result, but I’m getting antsy.
Caught some sort of bug over the weekend. Supposed to go run, but it’s kinda hard to do when you’re a having trouble breathing.
I even bought new shoes on Saturday. Damn.
My friend Kelly and I walked/ran the Holiday Lights 5K Night fun run on Dec. 13th, 2008 after training for about 3 1/2 weeks. All of the “runners”, from marathoners to mosey-ers, were really friendly. Everyone came all decked out in their santa hats and fanciful holiday garb. It was waaaay fun.
I finished in a time of 42mins knowing I could’ve had a much better time. Since then I’ve been training 3-4times a week at the gym or running outside, when weather permits.
I signed up for “The Frigid 5” race in Feb. The plan is to run all 5K of it. Kelly and I ordered matching tshirts (designed by the fantabulously talented Tiffster Totays) to wear that say “I run because I love cupcakes”. Awesome.
