Today is the last day of NaNoWriMo for 2009!! I’m not sure if I’m sad it’s over, or momumentally relieved… I’m going to go with relieved.
As of this morning, I had a total word count of 48,656. The goal of 50,000 words is well within my grasp unless I get hit by a bus. Even then I would finish even if I had to do the last 1,344 words by blinking in Morse code while in hospital in a full body cast.
Total word count: 37,444
Was supposed to be at 38,333 by the end of Day 23. I’m less behind than I was, but still playing catch-up. I Went to the Write-In on Sunday, and we did two sessions of Word Wars that helped me close the gap.
I’m not quite where I should be but I still have to do my words for today.
Total Word Count: 24,444
I took yesterday off. I’ve let so much pile up that I had to take some time to do chores. (You can only wear the same ensemble maximum three times without a wash before your co-workers start thinking your having a breakdown.)
Spent some quality time with the nephew as well. We took a trip to town and listened to some great music on the way to and from – his pick. For a 5 yr old he has rather discriminating tastes in music. Thank god he prefers Sia, the xx and Eric Johnson to the soundtrack from some innane kiddy show.
We decided that Saturday would be “Skipping Day”. I got some weird looks as we skipped hand-in-hand through the grocery and box store, but as a result I feel refreshed and ready to write today. Having the occassional Skipping Day can work wonders on one’s mental health, as long as you don’t mind other people thinking your crazy.
