“Were you looking for something more in the shack style? Perhaps a hovel? Shanty is very popular this season, as well.”
Those have pretty much been the places that I’ve looked at. A couple of them were so bad that I couldn’t believe that, first of all, anyone had actually lived there in the past 150 years and secondly, that the places hadn’t been condemed. The one place that was actually liveable was in a large house that had been converted into three apartments. The only issue there was the fact that the lady living downstairs was a super-nice meth addict.
I talked to a landlady of another very promising rental and we were getting along great until she said “no pets”. My 12yr old cat is not optional. I am not a disposable-pet-for-my-own-convenience kind of person (I hate those people and I wish terrible things for them).
I think at this point it would be wise to tough it out where I am for a few more months, if at all possible, build the garage and live in it until I can figure out what to do.
