take guitar lessons

Today we started working on The Kinks’ “Waterloo Sunset.” My fingers aren’t quite as sore today. However, I’m getting frustrated with my other class members who won’t stop playing while our teacher is talking/playing in order to teach us. He does give us time to work on our licks and such, and we have a whole week between classes to practice, so why can’t they shut up and listen for the hour and a half we have to learn? Still, I’m having a great time. Next week we’re learning “Rainbow Connection.”

My friend & I just took our first guitar class last week. Because of our schedules, we couldn’t get in the same class, but we jammed/practiced on Sunday and taught each other what we learned in our respective classes (same class, different teachers). My song wasn’t all that special, but he had learned Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues.” So now I can play Johnny Cash! ROCKIN’!!!!

I’m not checking this off my list until I complete this set of classes plus one more.

I’ve already signed up for one round of classes, but I want to take at least one or two more rounds.
