with the fact that I need my sleep. I can get up early, but what is the use of that if I go around like a zombie and keep bumping into things? What good is it if I am not as productive because I keep dozing off and get all cranky? Let’s face it: I’ll never be the kind of person that functions well on 6 hours of sleep. Better to sleep a decent night’s sleep and try to make the most of my day.
A little progress here too. I may not be waking up early, but at least earlier. In my case, I really need to sleep earlier too. Willpower is not enough…

Still not rising as early as I ideally want, but I’ve been waking up ealier and well (or better) rested. I’ve probably won’t get up at 5 or even 6 – that would really not work in “my” world: my “boss” won’t take calls before 2pm, my advisor almost always prefers to talk in the evening (if ever), etc, etc… Still, I feel very unproductive getting up late, so I’m striving for some balance.
This past two weeks, for a series of reasons, were “readjusting” weeks. I was never late, but also never early.
I was wondering, should I try to wake up a little bit earlier each day (for instance, 15 min earlier every three days) or just try to wake up 1 1/2 hours earlier just like that, and endure the almost physical pain of walking like a zombie, yawning, my eyes watering, for about the first three days? Well, when I put it like that, I guess I just answered my own question…
