I had what could qualify as a lesson (a good, not painful one) about procrastination:
I won’t get into too much detail, but someone asked me to help him edit/finish something he had a year to write but was still unfinished and due in six days. Oh, the madness, anxiety, the long hours and my proportionate bill…
And at the same time, I was given the opportunity to talk at a conference, and I could only do it because I already had a very good paper. I had almost everything ready, I was very calm, and when finished I could go home and work on that other guy’s editing.
Each of these cases was a lesson, but as they happened both in the same week, the contrast impressed me even more. I’m so happy!
If I keep up with my list (huge to-do list) until January, I’ll consider this goal achieved. Yes, I know it will probably be a lifelong quest, but I’m keeping up.
