And one last realistic quote...  — 1 year ago

...before considering this done. (For all perfectionists all there, the ones like me who want to clean their garbage before throwing it away):

My to-do list is an hydra!  — 1 year ago

I can never get to the end of it!!! I do something, two or more new things come up. However, it’s been a productive year so far; I’m much better at not procrastinating. It’ll always be a battle for me, but I’m getting the hang of it. For instance, I did some important stuff regarding papers and banks, the kind of thing I loathe the most, therefore procrastinate the most.
Still want to do more, but it’s a start.

I just have to constantly remind myself that every tiny thing, every step amounts to something, even if I can’t finish a project in a sitting, and even if everything is not perfect.

Still working hard  — 2 years ago

And today I even heard a compliment about how efficient I am.
What matters is that my to do list is getting shorter, little by little.
And I must say… I looooove the “add a reminder” feature. As I approach considering this done, I worry I will slack… so I send my future self a reminder. I think I will try this with all the most important goals!

I'm almost there!  — 2 years ago

I had what could qualify as a lesson (a good, not painful one) about procrastination:
I won’t get into too much detail, but someone asked me to help him edit/finish something he had a year to write but was still unfinished and due in six days. Oh, the madness, anxiety, the long hours and my proportionate bill…
And at the same time, I was given the opportunity to talk at a conference, and I could only do it because I already had a very good paper. I had almost everything ready, I was very calm, and when finished I could go home and work on that other guy’s editing.
Each of these cases was a lesson, but as they happened both in the same week, the contrast impressed me even more. I’m so happy!
If I keep up with my list (huge to-do list) until January, I’ll consider this goal achieved. Yes, I know it will probably be a lifelong quest, but I’m keeping up.

November is pure madness  — 2 years ago

I’m working like crazy! I have not written much in a while, but I log in everyday to read entries and give my cheers away. I miss interacting more.

Still a struggle  — 2 years ago

But at least I’m meeting all my deadlines.
Maybe the secret is to become more disciplined, but I hope one goal is enough! I think I should write a schedule (not only a to-do list) and stick to it. This goal also explains it all.

It worked  — 2 years ago

...or so I hope. I’ll be sure tomorrow.
Thanks to Christine and SallyKitt for the cheers/comments.
I did well at work today and also worked on my “be more organized” goal. Now I must keep this working.

Lately, it’s been a struggle. I’m feeling lazy, and then guilty, and then angry because I wasted time. I’ll work all I can tomorrow; that’ll probably make me feel better.

Back on track.
Not only did I manage to finish pending work, but I got paid. Ah, the joys of self-employment. Now, if I hadn’t to harass some people to pay me on time… I’m starting to think getting paid fairly and on time is one of the best motivations to stop procrastinating (for work related things, obviously).
Now if I could find the motivation to the study related stuff….

I'm ashamed to say  — 2 years ago

I failed miserably on this one this week. My parents left on Sunday, after being a month here. My husband also went away for half the week. So, after a month of intense work and fun, there is only my three-year-old and me. We missed the family noise, so we watched movies and played. The problem is, I became so depressed I neglected my work, and now I’ve fallen behind. I have even – gasp!- watched TV!! But I intend to get back on track today. Wish me luck.
