get my driver's license

Wooo! I passed!! I am SO excited!!!! And so happy. AHHHH!!! I took the afternoon off and me and Clare went to town and bought fudge and sausage rolls and went shopping!!! =D =D =D It was SO GOOD. I got to take the L Plates off and it was amazing.

The test itself was stressful, I almost failed (12 minors and about 3 borderline-majors, which is actually worse than my first test!), but thank God I didn’t and ahhhh!! I was so stressed during the lesson before hand, because it was raining ridiculously heavily, it was the worse visibility I’d ever driven in and I kept going wrong!!! But the rain had stopped by my test time and it wasn’t a busy time of day (11.41 am) so that was all good. At the end of the test, when she told me I’d passed, I let out the HUGEST sigh of relief you could ever imagine. It actually felt properly amazing!!! =D =D

So yeah, driving into Wells with Clare I was way more relaxed thus such a better driver than in my test and it was so good and I felt confident =D

I can’t believe I passed!! I also drove up the road to my piano lesson this evening because it was raining and dark… ah the luxury!

HOORAY! Finally!! I can drive!!! I don’t have a car, but I mean, minor issue… I’ll just be stealing my Mum’s big fat estate all the time!

Test #2 is tomorrow!! Agh!!! I hope SO MUCH that I pass! It’s at 11.40 so hopefully it won’t be too busy and I’m going to concentrate and observe and concentrate and observe!! So hard. Right! OK. Good. =)

It was my test today! I failed. Ugh! I failed in the first 2 minutes, and had to the rest of my test knowing so! I only got 4 minors, which is really good apparently, and 2 seriouses. Basically I had just that second come off a roundabout, and there was apedestrian crossing, one where you press a button to change the lights, and there was another roundabout coming right up. I stopped to let a pedestrian cross, and once he crossed I went to get to the other roundabout, which was on my mind cos he’d told me to go right at it, but the light was still red! So basically I ran a red light. I was like, ‘oh my god, is that a faiiiil???’ and he was like, ‘well, just do this roundabout’ and I thought ‘ugh, it so is a fail’ and then he was like ‘if you’re asking if that’s a serious fault, then yes it is’ and I was like, ‘nooooooooo!!!!’ LOL.

Then I got another serrious point for pulling out in front of a big red 4×4 after being asked to pull up and park.

Oh well! I minded for like 10 minutes, then I moved on. The only annoying thing now is that my test is booked for DECEMBER! That is so far away!!!!! I am gonna have to ring up every day to look for cancellations. I reeeally want to take it asap! I want it for 10 days time! (You have to wait 10 days before re-taking). 4 minors! I am good at driving when there’s nothing complicated like unseeable traffic lights and a man telling you about something 2 obstacles away (the second roundabout). Bless though, he was really nice. He did do the test wrong though- you’re sposed to either the reverse aroudn the corner or the turn in the road, and either parallel park or reverse bay park. I did both reverse around the corner and turn in the road and no parking. Fine by me! Lol.

Cool. Well I guess I’ll just keep practicing in towns and getting experience of pedestrian crossings! =) It was strangely fun =) x

My test is a week tomorrow!! AAHHHH!!!!! The thing am most scared of is not being able to read the number plate they ask me to read!! I did go to the opticians to try and get an appointment, but the optician was on holiday and they couldn’t fit me in for any time when he was here. My. I also have never done an emergency stop in a non-emergency, and I feel like I should, and I know nothing about car maintenance, so I’m gonna fail on that probs if I don’t fail cos of my actual driving. But obv I hope I don’t fail at all – I’m actually not too worried about it. I just really want to pass! Cos then we can afford to get me music theory lessons which means I will be able to take grade 8 singing!! I WANT TO PASS MY DRIVING TEST!!!!

I drove back from my Grandparents’ today! Devon – Cheddar! I drove through the centre of 2 towns, too, which was quite novel for me actually, cos a lot of it was nose-to-tail – it was fun! But I’m sure it’s not if you do it every day. It took 2 hours to get home! It was so good! My ankles hurt afterwards lol. Twas good :)

I had a mock test yesterday! I got 3 majors, which isn’t that bad actually! Lol. 2 were for almost hitting things on 2 separate occasions turning left into a minor road. The other one was because on my turn around in the road I hit the curb, which I didn’t even realise! So! I have booked my actual test! Agh! It’s on October 15th, so a fair way away, so we can fix the things I am doing wrong :)

Agh! I had my theory test today! All the practices I had done recently I failed, but I ended up getting 35/35 on the questions and 63/77 on the hazard perception (the pass mark is 44). HOORAY! So yeah, full marks on the Qs!! I was like, how did THAT happen? I did review all my answers and stuff before I clicked ‘finish’ so I think that helped! Aaaanyway, I have a mock practical test on monday!!!! Oh my God!! And then my actual test might be only 7 weeks away!!! I so do not feel ready for an actual test at the mo!! I drove almost all the way to Bristol today =D

I am now insured on my mum’s car, so I drove to squash this morning =D Hooray, I can practice lots and pass quicker! =D <3

I’m not getting a car until I have passed my test – I thought I wrote about this in an entry before! But I don’t know where. Anyway, my theory test is next tuesday, Aug 14th, and I just did a practice and I failed Hazard Perception!! NOOOOOO!!!!!! I will do it every day from now on until tuesday!!! I must pass! I a NOT paying to take it again! (This is the first time I’m taking it, but I had to cancel once because I couldn’t find my licence… Idiot.)

My parents and I went car shopping yesterday! I adore the first car we looked at, a silver Toyota Yaris with 4 doors – totally lovely if a bit noisy =D Even though me and my mum really liked it, both parents thought we should go and look at more cars, so we did, but they were all either not as nice as the yaris or equally as nice but more expensive.

I think we should definitely go for the Yaris. We know the people who own the garage where it is, so we may even get a discount! Lol. There hasn’t been any talk of it today though, which has worried me a bit. I want it! It was so nice! It’s for me and my sister, but my sister is away in Cambridge working, and she’s 20 and has never had a driving lesson, so I got to choose :)

Anyway, the point of this entry is that if my parents do buy me a car (which I was told would never happen by said parents) I’d 1) be very lucky and 2) be more likely to pass my test sooner rather than later, as I’d be able to actually practice between lessons!!!! =D
