It’s been helpful to me to have a good sense of just what I’ve committed to so that I avoid taking on new things that I can’t possible deliver on. And it’s also helped with procrastination to see what events are coming up—gotta clear the deck now so that I can follow through on upcoming items. Thanks to whoever first put follow through on their list. I doubt I’d have thought of it on my own, but it is/was definitely something I need(ed) to work on.

There are a couple of time-intensive things relating to amateur theatricals that I may add to my schedule in the next few weeks, but they are already on my list, I swear!
about all the things I’ve said I would or wanted to do. There’s always a low-level feeling of guilt about them, so I made a list of everything I could remember, and that I looked at it carefully to see whether I’d overcommitted. Since I “don’t work outside the home” (as the saying goes) I think I have unlimited time so when someone asks me to help with something I say yes. Not just because I don’t like saying no—maybe not even because I don’t like saying no. For me, it’s more a matter of liking to help, to be needed, to be counted on for my skills and knowledge. So I keep taking on new things without considering how it would affect things I’ve already committed to. But no more! From now on, I’m going to think carefully about the choices I make. Well, at least until something new comes along and makes me forget about this commitment. :/
