I smiled at a stranger last night!

My husband and I went to DQ last night and when we returned to our car there was a scary looking guy standing nearby, talking to someone sitting in a beat-up truck. I was going to avert my gaze but made eye contact instead—and the “scary” guy gave me the sweetest smile. I smiled back, and it felt good! I hope I remember that feeling the next time I’m tempted to look away from someone rather than acknowledging their presence.
