Read my unfinished books

i’ve really enjoyed this one actually. the past 3 weeks or so i’ve read three books – we need to talk about kevin by lionel shriver, the elephanta suite by paul theroux and notes on a scandal by zoe heller.
the nice thing about this task is that i’m really enjoying finally reading again! i went out and bought myself some more books to start the other day and i’m really quite excited about them.
the one i’m sinking my teeth into next is the beach. should be good.

i forgot to read this past week or so, but i’ve just finished ‘of mice and men’, which i loved. i’ve read it before, but it was a while ago and i didn’t really get it then. really enjoyed it though. must start carrying my book on the train again, because i actually zoom through them that way, i spend some much time on trains. i’m friends with train guards now, for god’s sake.

just finished this and it’s so good. also, actually terrifying and there are points when you just have to stop for a bit to recuperate. however, very clever and i liked it. another one down.

i really like this challenge. i’ve started reading again, which is just such a nice thing to do, especially after a year of stress and work.
so far, i’ve read 2 books of short stories, i finally finished jack kerouac, and i read two completely new stories!
granted they’re not quite in keeping with this, as i did actually go out and buy them (not really helping myself), but i finished both of them this week.
one of the new ones was ‘bonjour tristesse’, and now my friend has lent me the french original to read. exciting.
also, since i’ve started reading, people have been giving me more and more books! stop! (well, maybe don’t, i’m really beginning to enjoy myself)

the pile is getting higher. aw man.

well, on the other hand, i have three exams tomorrow, and i haven’t revised fully for two of them. dang and blast and a slap on the back of the hand for not getting that done.
but who can blame me when in chemistry, i have to learn something called stoichometry? i didn’t even know what that is. i had to look it up.
excellent education, this one i got.

it’s not much to do with reading, this entry, but i’d really quite like to moan.

i realised a few weeks ago that i haven’t actually finish a book in over a year. i didn’t even read the book that was our set english text!
today, i read a book of short stories and finished it! i know that sounds like nothing and i’m sure there are people who crunch their way through neck thick books every other day, but i’m rusty. i’ve got a pile of eighteen books that i haven’t finished. EIGHTEEN.
i better get going.
