learn Russian

i’m getting slightly better, as i now have an incentive to do this. next summer, my russian friend (who is strictly ukrainian, really) has suggested we go on a road trip around odessa and the surrounding places, which will be pretty cool. so to avoid the risk of sounding culturally inept, i’m getting my head around this. eventually.

i really like the idea of being able to just burst into conversation with my russian friend (that’s not in english), i just don’t like the idea of work! i’m very lazy, that’s one of the reasons why i signed up to 43 things – to STOP BEING LAZY.

i’ve not done badly so far. i taught myself the cyrillic alphabet, which is really important. there’s hardly any internet site that teaches russian free in roman alphabet phonetics.

i can ask where your baggage is as well. a vital phrase.
