In March, I’ll release Bee Season (which was very good) in the airport in Cozumel. I had good luck with the Murakami novel I released in the airport in Lisbon. It ended up in Ireland!

Finally, something has happened with a book I released. I left Haruki Murakami’s Dance Dance Dance in the Lisbon airport, and now it’s in Co Kerry, Ireland. Great news!
I’ll leave it somewhere in Portugal, don’t know where yet. I wish more people who find my books would log in and write that they found it at least.
I dropped off a hard back copy of Elizabeth George’s In Pursuit of the Proper Sinner in the lounge at work. Someone picked it up a few days ago, and I’m wondering if he/she will register it. I’m a bit suspicious now of letting really nice hard back books go…people tend to keep them, or even worse, sell them to used bookstores. Bad Bad!
I’ll leave one in the Heathrow airport, and one in the Istanbul airport. I’m a bit discouraged by how few books are found and registered on Bookcrossing. Someone picked up one of the books I released and sold it to a used bookstore! Luckily, the person who bought it registered it. Some people’s kids, eh?
Released in Picton at the PierceMartin Bed and Breakfast…no one has registered it yet…keeping my fingers crossed.
I released “Talk Before Sleep” by Elizabeth Berg in the airport in Cancun. I read the last 3 pages in the food court, and cried all over my coffee. Oh my god, the story was so very beautiful and moving. G sat there and didn’t know what to say…poor guy. But now I wonder if someone will pick it up and be a bit miffed that I left a sad, tear jerker of a book in a place that is meant for eating, drinking, being happy and forgetting your troubles?
Oryx and Crake…I released it at the Mayflower Restaurant/Pub…it was picked up and brought to St.Maartens in the Caribbean, and released in a hotel lobby! This is the farthest place yet that a book I’ve released has been caught and rereleased!
I found out that a book I left downtown in a pub was bought in a second hand bookstore! This means that someone actually sold a bookcrossing book to a used bookstore and made money on it! Pooey on this moron…I fart in your general direction. Bad karma, bad karma for you!
I’ll be releasing a book tomorrow in Kingston where G and I are going for a B&B romantic getaway.
