learn to play the mandolin

Well, my boyfriend restored an old mandolin he found for me. Now it’s purple and sounds awesome. I’m gonna have fun with it.

I’ve got some problems with my motor skills and have gotten a bit used to being told I’m just not very good with my hands. It’s true to an extent, but I think it’s time I quit assuming what I can and can’t do. I’d love to play some kind of stringed instrument and am drawn to mandolin for some reason…and it’s not just because my boyfriend is a mandolin luthier. ;) Maybe he can teach me when we have lots and lots and lots of free time.
