Alaska!

My son and I went on a cruise to Alaska right before school started up again in August, and we had a fantastic time! Alaska is beautiful, and well worth the trip. I intend to go back again sometime.

More U.S. States!

I managed to add several more states to the list this month, when we drove from Pennsylvania to California, taking a more southern route this time:

33) Delaware
34) Maryland
##) Washington D.C.
35) Arkansas
36) Texas
37) Oklahoma
38) New Mexico

States I have yet to visit: Hawaii, Alaska, Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Does that make 50, or have I mis-counted somewhere? Oh, and Montana. That makes 50. :)

Next Action

Project: Take a trip to Maryland.

Next Action: Research a destination for a fun day- or weekend-trip.

New Jersey

A couple of weeks ago, my son and I drove to Trenton, to pick up some friends from the train station. Not only was it a new state for me, but one of my friends mentioned that Trenton is the “home” of Stephanie Plum, so we took a little Janet Evanovich driving tour. I’m pretty sure we found the place upon which she based Stevas. :D

Progress!

28) Utah
29) Colorado
30) Kansas
31) Missouri

I forgot about this . . .

This is kind of cool – here is a visual representation of all the states I’ve visited so far:

ETA: And I’ve just noticed that I’m not the first one to think of posting this here. :D

As of today . . .

I’ve visted the following states (in roughly this order, IIRC):

California, Florida, Nevada, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Massachussets, Iowa, Nebraska, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Arizona, Oregon & Washington.

That’s more than half, and with any luck I’ll visit at least one more this year (probably Texas).
