I’ve done it! I’ve completed my overall reading goal for 2007, and with half the year still ahead of me! I should note that my 150 books includes childrens books, although they count for less than half of the total. To see the list of everything I’ve read this year (since there’s no way I’m going to type out 150 titles!), try this link:

I might try for 300.

I’ve read 58 books so far this year (including several children’s books; I have read a good number of “grown-up” books too, though). I’m not going to list them here right now, though (too much typing). I’ll post a big list at the end of the year.

But that’s kind of the point, isn’t it? If it was easy, there’d be no point in adding it to the list of goals. I finished 128 books last year, so this year I’m expecting more of myself. However, since I include books I read with my son, I figure that since we’re homeschooling now (which we only did half of 2006), that should help me with the numbers.
So far, I’ve read 8 books already this year, and it’s only the 6th, so I figure I’m off to a pretty good start:
1. White Teeth, by Zadie Smith
2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas, by Dr. Seuss
3. Rikki Tikki Tavi, by Rudyard Kipling
4. El libro de los modales: ¿Qué es lo correcto, Teo?, by June Behrens
5. La Gata Perdida, by Berlitz
6. Me llamo Celia: La vida de Celia Cruz, by Monica Brown
7. Con Mi Hermano/With My Brother, by Eileen Roe
8. Un cuento de peces, más o menos, by Joanne and David Wylie

Between the books I read for myself, and the books I’m reading with my son, I should be able to get through 150 this year no problem. I hope so, anyway. :)
But I’m going to put this goal on hold for now – no sense in having it “activated” until January, 07, right?
