And it’s terrific – she’s like a completely different little girl! She gets more attention and noone is distracting me, I have enough time to clean up afterher (;-)) and the effect really shows: We have a really nice time.
Totally worth it!

is actually doing the trick right now. My daughter gets a bit jealous these last few days since we don’t have enough time for her anymore. Of course she gets jealous then! And she reacts it on us, which was very disturbing for us. But now we have a new strategy: when I am busy with my daughter and my son starts to cry (unless it’s that very urgent shrill kind of cry) we simply let him wait for a few minutes, until we are finished with whatever we were doing with our daughter. It’s never taking long and we also tell her, that her brother still has to wait since it’s not his turn yet. This just shows her that we are not immediately running away from her to her brother. She’s still as important to us as she was a few weeks ago.
Well, we don’t have any problems with her for some time now – no more drama queen!
she was crying a lot… Her father was gone for the afternoon and that’s why she cried. In the last three weeks I have been too busy with the baby and that’s why she misses her father more than she appreciates being with me (I was playing and reading some books to her yesterday afternoon). So I guess she is now taking revenge for having spent more time with my new-born baby than with her.
Starting from this week my husband has to start working again and I will be at home alone with the baby and also with my daughter. I hope I can get some rest into our little family again and start getting back to normal again. And in time my daughter will also like spending time with me again – I hope…
We’re just back home from the city and it’s been a lot of fun. We took the bus, did some shopping – all for her or the baby, of course – and had something to drink and some pie afterwards. She really enjoyed herself then. We then went back, my daughter was singing, so cute, and had to wait for the bus… in a lot of snow. It all was fine, until we had to walk back home through the snowstorm which made her cry almost all the way. But as soon as we were home, it was all over and the snow, the trip to the city, everything was fine again. Nice! :-)
we are going to have something to drink in the city. We’ll take the bus (she loves that) and do some little shopping and just enjoy ourselves. Maybe she can also get something small for the baby herself. I’m curious how this’ll be.
she will have a brother or sister and I am so afraid to neglect her then. She’s the cutest little thing, so smart and funny and she deserves as much time and looking after as possible. I want to be with her and have a great time, not only watch her until it’s time for bed again.
