I bought this lovely blue acoustic guitar for myself at least three years ago and still it sits unplayed in the corner. Why am I so afraid to learn how to play? I took private lessons and was embarrassed. I took a group class and was embarrassed. I have all kinds of excuses: My beloved cat runs out of the room when I try to play. I live with roommates and in close proximity to other houses and I don’t want to disturb people. I need to do my homework. The truth is that I love music very, very much and I think the thought of playing intimidates me. When will I be able to let go of my fear and give it a try?
