Read all the books on the BBC Big Read Top 100

It was good fun to read.

Finally finished Lord of the Rings.

And bought Crime and Punishment (for this list) and Lady Susan (for the Jane Austen list).

I can’t wait to finish Lord of the Rings so I can start something else.

I finished “Winnie-the-Pooh” today. I enjoyed it, and didn’t want it to end. Even though Pooh was a Rather Self-Centred Bear, as well as being a Bear of Very Little Brain, that didn’t stop the stories from being charming and fun.

Finished the God of Small Things tonight.

Overall, it was worth reading, although I hope my mother never gets round to reading it. She’d be shocked by all the naughtiness.

I’m now more than 1/3 of the way through, and I’m working on 3 more books at the moment: Lord of the Rings, The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and The God of Small Things (although I haven’t read any of Hitchiker’s Guide in aaaages…).

So far, The God of Small Things has been weird yet strangely compelling.
