Oprah has started a school for girls in South Africa, and it’s pretty incredible. I suspect that we will see a powerful leader (or three or four) come out of it.
An Indian executive at Dupont who had succeeded very well in the US returned to his ancestral home in India, to set up a girls’ school with a half million dollars of his own money. He was very vehement about how important it was to empower the girls. It felt good.

I met a NYC high school student (male) who’s part of a student organization that educates people on abuse. He was so cool! Soft-spoken, down to earth, NOT preachy.
