I did this over the weekend and it was very enlightening. For instance, I’ve been wanting to buy some of those wire shelves that you can use to make an additional shelf in a tall space. Well, as I was cleaning out my pantry I found that the last person who lived in my house left 3 of them behind, so I got them for free. They really do make finding storage container lids and cooking pans easier.
By rearranging the food I had I was able to free up more storage space and see what I needed more easily. I moved several rarely used appliances (coffee maker, etc.) to an upper shelf which increased my storage space considerably.
I still need to do some work in the pasta/rice and baking sections.
Also, I really want to spiff this space up. Paint the walls yellow to match the kitchen, touch up the white paint on the shelves, scrub the paint off the brass bin pulls on the drawers that some (idiot) earlier owner slopped on. Looks like I’ll have to make that another “thing”.
