I just finished my first loaf yesterday so I’m thinking it’s safe to estimate that 1 baking of bread will last 2 weeks. It’s interesting that I used to go through a loaf of store bought bread in well under a week. Perhaps homemade is more filling? Maybe I cut the slices thinner? Interesting to ponder.

I finally found a decent white bread recipe (from Baking with Julia—a book I’ve owned for over a decade and I’ve never used) and tried it out last night. Very good!
Also, I made 2 loaves for $1.60 rather than buying 1 loaf for $3.89. The cost will drop even lower once I start being better about shopping the sales.
I want to do this every week and branch out to other recipes too.
