learn to play golf

After years of my father’s naggin…ahem… kind words of encouragement, I signed up for golf lessons with a local pro. I wanted to learn the game primarily for business purposes, but I have to admit that it’s turned out to be a lot of fun. The game is by no means easy; I’ve discovered that it requires a great deal of concentration, discipline, and especially patience. Consistently making contact with that little white ball can be so frustrating for the newbies. It is, however, very satisfying when you are finally able to hit long and, more importantly, straight drives. We’ll see how it goes, but so far it’s been worth the time and effort.
