This is one of the goals that I get emailed to myself regularly.
The other day we got our annual bonuses at work. They were smaller than what everyone expected and no one was very happy. I thought mine would be bigger for several reasons but one was becasue of the extra work that I’ve picked up. I was upset for two whole days and was about to let it go instead of talking to my boss about it. After a few “you can do it” talks from my friends I sat at my desk and thought “Be brave, HotDiggity”!
So, a few minutes later I got up, walked to her office and presented my case on why I deserve a bigger raise. I was terrified but she said I made good points and that she’d bring it up with the big boss to see if they could adjust it!
Being brave pays… litterally! :) Well, hopefully!
