I’m sorry I couldn’t reach you. But I understand; there was a barrelling rhinocerous between us. I wouldn’t have ventured near my side of the fence, either. Next time I’ll try to visit when the rhinocerous is sleeping.

It’s amazing how many people want me to pet a giraffe.

I want to, too!

I just haven’t had the opportunity yet. I hear there’s a good zoo in Iowa somewhere that I might get to visit. I’ll let you know.

I heart giraffes 4 years ago

I even had a dream once that I stole a baby giraffe from the zoo. See, it was after I read an article (in real life) about a zookeeper who didn’t know one of the zoo’s giraffes was pregnant. The gestation period is more than a year, and he didn’t manage to notice. Then one day there was a “tiny” fuzzy giraffe in the cage, next to its mother. A surprise giraffe. I could steal a surprise giraffe. But in my dream I woke up because I was worried about what I’d do when it grew taller and taller. I will settle for petting a giraffe.
