I’m half hispanic (mostly Puerto Rican with some Mexican). My mom and her side of the family speaks spanish fluently (although my mom looks white!) but I was never taught because my dad for the longest time didn’t want it spoken in our home because he can’t understand it. He’s finally ok with it, but it’s so hard to learn once you are older! I really want to learn though, as all the extended family on my mom’s side (the side we see the most) always talks to me (or about me hehe) in spanish and I never know what is going on.
At least I don’t have much of an accent. I know HOW to say the words, just not the words to say! =p
