So, I am home for winter break, and my dad asked me to catalogue all of the computer equipment that we have laying about and throw away whatever doesn’t work. So I started swapping parts out of our old Gateway. First, I basically put the Gateway back to factory…. and lo and behold! It was fully functional!!!!
This excited me for 4 reasons:
1) All of those pieces work, thus creating at least one fully functional computer.
2) I had some old pictures and music files on there that I have wanted access to for YEARS, but thought they were lost to the vagarities of time.
3) I found all my old conversation logs – most significantly the one where I met my long time girlfriend who I dated for almost four years.
4) My brother had a downloaded a copy of ‘Hungry like the Wolf’ by Reel Big Fish that was live and sounded like the band was drunk. It amazes and we’ve never found another copy of it in all the years we’ve been without this computer…(about 5-6)
But most significantly (and relevantly) this also allowed me access to all of the writing that I did in highschool that has always been something inspirational to my dream of writing.
I am unbelievably excited to go through all of these files!!!!

So I’m selling out just a little. I got a macbook. It seems like something I needed to do. Also, It IS rather necessary for me since I changed majors.

I left my journal in my friend’s car. He left the country. I feel deprived. I have so much to write about at this very moment, but it is not going to be in my journal like I want it to be. I will have to use my poetry journal. I heart Huckabees, why don’t you?

So I have been somewhat successful lately. I have been sitting down and writing something for at least an hour every couple of days, even if it is only in a journal or just some random funny thought that comes to my mind.

I used to only write on my computer, but I have found that I usually feel much more creative and enthusiastic when I sit down with a journal or notebook and a nice pen. The word that is actualy written by hand seems to carry more weight.

So I found this website and I am now putting on my first entry ever.
I have been somewhat successful in this endeavor lately. Besides keeping a journal, I have also been able to get back into my poetry. Still haven’t touched the idea of anything longer than a couple pages though. I also hope to get my ZIP drive working on my computer so I can get my hands on my old files.
