I picked up a roving of Jacobs, it spins beautifully.

Today I dyed some of my homespun with cherry Kool Aid.
There was a lady moving off the island where I live and she did not want to transport her large walking wheel. I bought it from here, with all the necessary accessories (carder, rovings, some stuff that I am not sure what it is for). There is a spinning guild here on the island, and the lady who organizes it, knows how to use a walking wheel. We intend to meet sometime over the winter to begin my lessons. My eventual goal, is the whole shebang. I want to have the sheep, sheer them by hand, dye the wool with natural plants using sun energy, spin it fine for sock yarn, then knit the socks. I live within 15 minutes of a small sheep farm, and have been learning quite a bit about sheep. I have a place to raise sheep. I have experimented with some natural plant dye using the sun. I know how to knit lovely socks. So, really, all I am missing is the middle step of knowing how to spin, and spinning to a even quality acceptable for sock yarn.
