I realized that when I wrote this goal, I didn’t make it a measurable one. What is “in shape”? So, I’ve decided that I want to lose 30 lbs. and get back into a size 3 pants comfortably. I also measured the amount of inches and % body fat taht I want to lose, but I forget them right now, so I’ll have to come back with those…
Well, today I picked up a Tae Bo DVD and a pilates DVD. I figure I’ll alternate between them each day to keep from getting bored. The Tae Bo is 45 minutes long and I’ll be doing about 40 minutes when it’s piilates day! I’m determined to do the whole 45/40 minutes EVERY DAY!! and if i’m really cut on time, then i’ll settle for less. Something’s better than nothing! But, I know that to really get into shape and get healthy, I’ll have to change my eating habits. I eat out alot and I never order salads or anything healthy. I’m going to have to train myself to CRAVE healthy foods. I’d rather spend my time making myself WANT those foods, rather then just forcing myself like it’s an obligation. Unfortunately, I’m not in the best situation right now to cook much. I live in a motel at the moment and only have a mini-fridge and microwave. Does anyone have any suggestions?
The hardest thing for me is getting my body and my mind to the same spot. To get them both motivated at the same time! First, my mind goes, “Okay, guess I’d better get up and exercise.” But, my body just likes sitting better. So, then I finally get up and go to exercise, but by this point my mind is over the whole idea and I can somehow come up with at least 10 reasons why I couldn’t/shouldn’t/wouldn’t do it. I’ve just got to stop making excuses and JUST DO IT! Mind over matter…
