Get some experience in Recruitment

This is so awesome, i get to spend a career day with our recruitment department! This is going to be so much fun!

Well i got to go to the assessment centre for Claims Recruitment for both days. It was fantastic. I got to evaluation some of the people and i participated in the role play which is one of three componments on getting the job. It was a wonderful experience and the Claims Ops Leader appreciated me coming and for my opinions as well, i felt so appreaciated :) Cant wait to the next one.

I am arranging a career day in September to spend with the recruitment people to get an inside look at everything, hopefully it should be entertaining! My leader also agrees that we should be going to more assessment centers, so i will have a chat to the ops leader about that and hopefully be able to get more involved.! Awesome work.

I had a blast at our assessment center! I loved evaluating the people and watching them in a group enviroment. I also got to sit in on a couple of interviews and i really loved it! If i did not love my job already i think recruitment would also be for me! I would really love to be able to go to more assessment centres and also i would love to get an idea around the phone interviews and what happens after we accept or decline people. BTW did i mention our psychologist is a babe!

As we all know i really plan to move to England next year for a year or two and i have been looking at Jobs overseas in my current profession (a Trainer) and some of the really good jobs are also asking for a recruitment officer/trainer. Therefore i would really love to use my time at my current job effectively and get some more experience in this area.

On tuesday i am going to the assessment centre and seeing how that works in regards to the face to face interview, the psyc testing, the role plays and the group activities. Should be fun! I hope to be able to attend more of these through out the year.

Also when i have my next ‘development plan’ with my leader i think i will let her know of this and hopefully i can spend a couple of days with the people in careers and see how they go through the applications and the over the phone interviews work.
