learn to sew

Two years ago my mother bought me a nice kit, stocked with all sorts of things for sewing by hand. Last year she bought me a sewing machine. She knows I’m interested, I’m just afraid! I went out to visit last month and she bought me some patterns, took me to a fabric store, got everything I needed for a beautiful poncho, and now I’m sitting at home by myself staring at the pattern. I’m afraid to mess anything up! I’m terrified to cut! :-) When I was younger I sewed a few small things – pillows, shorts, drawstring bags, etc. I just need to do this! There are so many ideas and wonderful things I would love to make, so now 2009 is the time!
