Improve my English

I am just decluttering my goals.

like… stuff…

I used to think my English was great and as good as any native’s. Ahahargh. Holy Hubris! Boy, was I mistaken.
I mean, spending time in forums that are frequented by puberts can make one old gal think she was really clever and a genius with the language…

But every time I find a decent discussion, between grown ups, or when I read long, deep, great, amusing, well written entries on 43T … and then, when I try to write my own entries … I realize I can’t really express myself well enough. My vocabulary is too limited, and words often just don’t flow naturally and I have to look up—stuff that I already know.
But!
I think—I hope! when I continue reading the good stuff, taking part in some discussions, writing my own stuff
and looking words up, and checking out words, and using the dictionary, and y’know … stuff like that
that will surely improve my English further.

I also want a … thing Gelegenheit … opportunity, that was it! More opportunities to really talk to native speakers.

P.S.
Anyone know some words I might use instead of stuff? Argh.
