Sacred to her are the Key, Torches, a Dagger, and apparently snakes. Dogs, too.
Howling dogs announce her approaching.
In an old German encyclopaedia of Myths I read that the ‘crossroads’ sacred to her are roads that fork into three ways, ‘because to three ways she has the keys: to the way to Haides, to the way to Heaven, and to the way of a happy life on Earth, which she may give or take away.’
Hekate’s Roman name is Trivia, of course. <|8)

This ^ is a Nordic rune, Algiz, which has nothing to do with Hekate—or does it? It does looks like a trivia. It is a rune of protection.

Ah, boooooring! Every fluffy witch is into Hekate.
Yea, sure.
And the deity that, hm, came over me (?) recently was actually male! ARGH! In August Hermes showed up.
But when I searched and read about him, there was Hekate lurking in the background.
Hermes and Hekate got some things in common (though I think Hekate is doing it longer….):
Eg. borders and crossroads are theirs, and those piles of stones sacred to Hermes are sacred to Hekate as well.
I had thought Hekate was an old chuckling crone. Well, she’s not. She’s a woman who keeps dark and danger away with her torches. She can fight, and yet she is kind-hearted and loving.
She is the Goddess that is, hm, calling me at this time, and I want to learn and experience more about/with her.
