Save $1000 for my emergency fund

I spent it all again! why the eff can’t I just save money? I think that I needed the things that I bought, but I probably could have bought them cheaper or just staved off until I had serious funds saved up. I need saving tips that will actually work. Just making sure that a percentage of my paycheck goes into the savings account isn’t going to cut it. Perhaps I should just cut up my bank card or something.

$350.00 put in yesterday.
Heres hoping it stays in there instead of getting spent on movies, coffee and clothes. $400 dollars of my tax return is going in there too when I get it.

I just want a set amount in my savings account that I know will be there if something happens. Right now I’m also paying off a credit card (from christmas and school books) and I’m also going to have to pay for books for school next semester. I’ll have to see where this goes, but if I can spare it, I’d like $1000.00 in there by the start of the fall semester.
