pay off my school fees

My first entry in a long time. I kind of drifted away from the site, but I’m back.

Unfortunately, it’s virtually impossible for me to pay the $270 a month I originally planned. Instead, I’m just trying to steadily send whatever I can afford (typically $50). I’ve gotten what I owe down to $1,250.

Well, I got one of the schools paid off, and significantly earlier than I expected. I now owe $1,350 to the other school. I believe what I will do is pay them $270 per month for the next five months. It will be difficult, but I think I can handle it… and then I will be debt free.

Now that I’ve paid off all three of my credit cards, I have two more major debts to pay off – money owed to two colleges, totalling approximately $2,000. My goal is to have one of the colleges paid off completely by the end of March 2009, and the other paid off before the end of 2010.

Once these fees are paid off, I will be completely debt-free other than $50 I owe to a friend (which I plan on taking care of soon). At that point I will be much more comfortable saving money without feeling the pressure to empty my savings in order to take care of debts.
