Thanks to Rouenpucelle, I got my butt kicked into doing this through a challenge of hers. I’m trying to write the whole thing in one month (different goal). This is like a two-fer. I get to take care of two goals for the price of one.

The last book took me six years, so this had been lower on my list, but now with this month deadline thing, it shouldn’t drag on as the one did before.

As far as subject matter goes, it is a spin off or kind of a sequel to the last one. There’s some new characters, who are occupying the first few chapters almost exclusively, but soon they’ll meet up with the old characters.

I already wrote one book. It came about as a result of re-reading the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy after reading the five books of the Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. As I was reading I kept imagining what it would be like if it was someone more like Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect fighting in the Wars of the Rings, rather than the somber crew of Tolkein’s writings. It’s entirely different from either story. It’s only a blending of themes.

This time I might write another comedy, or change completely and write a book on history anomalies.
