Ladies and Gentlemen, in March I was squeeeeezing myself into a size 20 (US size 18).
Today, I bought a pair of size 14 (US size 12) jeans. I fit into the 12s (US 10s) but with too much muffin top for them to be a reasonable purchase.
I’m quite chuffed :)

Ok, that captain’s log stuff was fun but I’m sick of it now :P
I’m just over halfway done this goal. It’s taking longer now – but at least it’s still happening. This is the most weight I’ve ever managed to lose, so I’m thinking I might actually get to my goal weight this time around. Looking forward to it, in any case :)

Captain’s Log:
The journey is still moving along at a reasonable pace, although we did get delayed for about 10 days when the Master and Commander spotted a bunch of food she wanted to scoff. Never fear, however, as she has recommitted to completing this task, and today took back up weight lifting and started running. I try to remind her that getting to the destination is the most important part, but like anyone the Master and Commander at times wants to get there as quickly as possible.
A recent encouragement has been our emergence from the Obese zone into the Overweight zone. Although they are clearly demarcated on maps with lines, we’ve noticed a more gradual shift in the landscape. However, the shift is there: instances of Back Fat sightings are nearly nonexistant here. The Master and Commander was particularly displeased with the amount of back fat present in the Obese zone and is feeling far more at ease here.
Until next time,
Captain Out.

Captain’s Log:
We are still on course towards accomplishing the mission we set out on March 7, 2008. There have been some changes to the routine. The addition of employment to the Master and Commander’s life (finally, she would like to add) has, instead of hindering our progress, actually helped it, as part of the job requires physical labour, and besides, she’s been cycling in and out. Which, the M&C would like to add, is totally kicking her ass, but she hopes it will get better. She’s also hoping for some kind of strange earthquake to flatten all the damn hills around here. I feel this is unlikely, but the M&C has her little heart set on this landscape obliterating natural disaster.
Additionally, I would like to take this time to remind people undertaking similar endeavors that looking to lose 80 lbs in 2 months is not feasible. Our space ships are simply not built for that kind of speed – they would fall apart under the stress. It is better to go at a safe pace that we can withstand, than to attempt what would inevitably lead to failure.
Happy Sailing,
Captain out.

Captain’s log:
This mission, though never completed in the past, was recommenced once more on March 7th, 2008. The catalyst was our master and commander buying a pair of jeans that SHOULD have been too large and not being able to squeeze her massive flab into them, not a hope. So after a few days of moping (and contemplating the fact that all currently fitting jeans were falling apart due to chub rub), the master and commander decided to Do Something About It, This Time For Sure Eh?â„¢
Our progress thus far has been encouraging. If you like statistics (and other cool, shiney things) our mission is now 13% complete, we have lost 5% of our starting body weight, and we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel although due to the warping of light at our current speed through space and time, we are not sure exactly where that light is or when we’ll get there. However, we are confident that it exists. The master and commander is pleased to report that her massive flab has been tamed to fit into the jeans she purchased a month ago, although the muffin top is still too great to be seen in public.
Captain out.
