I purchased the Epson Perfection 2580 and it works fairly well. It has a negative loader and and automates the processes for getting up to 4 pictures at a time from the negatives. For the price I don’t think it can be beat.. I got it for $120.
The process is still painfully slow though if you have a lot of old photos and negatives. Also, I find it hard to keep lint and dust off of the negatives, pictures, and scanner glass. A tiny speck of dust can ruin a scan way too easily and waste a lot of time.
Does anyone have suggestions for dust elmination while scanning?
