try new things

Today I went to a “Mediterranean-Jazz” concert on my own and ran into a few nice friends and watched to concert with them. It was fine (though I skipped studying Economics for sake of this concert.)

I started to like Mediterranean musics more than ever nowadays.
Normally it was not really my type. I did not really like those songs in which women yelled to show how they are tormenting. But, for some reason I don’t know, it comes more natural to me. Especially, Yasmin Levy is speaking to my feelings these days.

I went to a birdwatching trip to Lake Mogan, with the Birdwatching Society of METU.
As a child, there has been a time that I wanted to be an ornithologist, so this event was quite interesting for me. Now I’m able to identity some of the bird types in Ankara and METU. I’ve learned that 50% of the bird types that can be seen in Turkey are recorded in woodland of METU campus. What a variety, I’m surprised!

Anyway, birdwatching was a lot of fun :)
I’ll keep doing things like that.

^{offically and literally applied for Erasmus, but only to Universidad de Granada, Spain. I’ll have and English exam and have to wait a lot for the result. But fingers are crossed anyway :)}

I’m applying for Erasmus program!

My fear is that it can completely screw my GPA, but I think I’m gonna give a try.

My first preference is gonna be :

• Universidad de Granada, Spain

^{Cause I’m learning Spanish and I’ll hopefully be done with this goal until my Erasmus semester in case they accept me.}

Though I’m not sure, if I have a second preference, it’s gonna be :

• Université Victor Segalen Bordeaux, France

^{I don’t know if I should apply to this place too, it’s like it’s almost sure that I’ll get into this program. Because though the quota is high, no one wants to go to France hence in France the education is gonna be in French and it’s gonna be a tough one! People don’t want to screw their GPA, neither do I. But maaaan, this is France. FRANCE!!! I’m so undecided and waiting universe to send me a message about it..!}

Well, there are other Erasmus partners of our department in many many places of Europe, if my only concern was that Erasmus semester, I could be immediately going to somewhere, our school’s grant and reference on this Erasmus thing is quite high. But I have to think of my GPA too and so I’ll apply to only one or two places.

^{Ohhh, I’m so confused. But there’s one thing I’m sure : I’ll have an Erasmus semester within next 2 years :)}

Yes, I started to learn juggling and joined to the Juggler’s Group at school as I was seeking for an opportunity to add something fun to my life :)

There are cool people ^{and a few cool guys} at there!
At first I thoguht I was completely gonna suck, but I didn’t :)

I feel like a bit of a crackpot :p
But I’m gonna try this things too.

I dyed my hair red again!!
It’s not reddish – it’s RED this time. I’ve never been redder :)

Yayyyy, I’ve got a new analog camera :)

I’ve always wanted to try that photography thing with one of those kind of cameras and also wanted to use the dark room.

Now I’m gonna make that happen :)

I’m returning back to METU tomorrow, and this semester I want to take a Photography class as an elective course.

May all the powers of the universe be with me!

B. took me to a Karaoke party!
[I’ve been searching for an opportunity to sing karaoke in Ankara since I moved here :) ]

The party was organized by his university, so I saw the environment of a different university than METU!

The karaoke part was not that successful, I didn’t sing as I thought I was going to. Because there was a long line and those drunken people were singing stupid Turkish pop songs and this didn’t really fetch me! But the band which played after the karaoke part was totally amusing!

And..Well… At the end of the night, his kiss was delicious and good to my ego. Probably nothing more.

Tonight, my beloved friend Deniz and I discovered a wonderful place at Bahçelievler, called El Paso.

There was a wonderful atmosphere, wonderful music and were marvvvellous foods! The place has got a 50% discount at happy hours, We were at there with a friend of us who is soon to be gone to Italy with Erasmus program. Had a wonderful chat, spaghetti and red wine, paid only about 10 TL :)

The big point is, I started to realise that there are actually quite nice places at Ankara to hang around :)

I guess I started to enjoy things here :)

I’ve been thinking of visiting a foreign city in February or March for a while.

I was undecided if I was going to Paris, Amsterdam or Milano, but now I decided, it’s Milano and I’m going there in March :)

^{Luckily, I found a quite reasonable flight last night, totally by my chance, (57 + 28 = 85 EUR for both ways) and I bought the ticket :)}

I’ve never done sth this spontaneously, there’re like 3 months until March but I’m already sooo excited for my Milano trip :)
