Focus on skin
My focus right now is on skincare rather than makeup. I think that nice skin will magically just improve my looks and so I won’t have to depend on loads of makeup to do it.
I’ve tried using this acne spot relief from Aveda and it’s all right..nothing amazing. I’m going to get something else from Aveda to try blemishes….and I also bought a tourmaline charged eye creme that’s supposed to decrease dark circles. So far it’s not working. I guess I need to stay consistent with it.
I’ve found Clinique foundation to work really well with me, though. I have a Makeup Forever HD powder en route from a Sephora purchase. I can’t wait! It got really good reviews and a recommendation from my flatmate.

The last couple times I put on eye make up, I’ve been itching like crazy (my eyelids) and my eyes get red. It’s terrible….unbearable. It also lasts for about 2-4 days afterwards. Talk about lingering effects! :(
Maybe the base I’m using is too old? I don’t know….I should go get a new one I suppose. Or maybe I need to switch to more natural/mineral/organic stuff.

Thanks to my friend Amy for telling me about this!
I just bought a bunch for myself and for friends too.

I think I’ve come a long way since previously. I’ve finally been more brave with my black eyeliner, which I simply adore. I use a black one…because I can’t handle a liquid one. It’s great. I love using it with my green Stila eyeshadow and then a gold one underneath all that for light shimmer. If I could, I’d just use the gold and the black liner but my eyes are prone to smudging (not in a good way). Whee! I’m a lot better at putting blush on but sometimes I think I overdo it. I doubt it but to me, it looks a bit overdone occasionally. I’m getting a lot quicker at applying foundation since I do it every time I go to class and almost every time I am going out with friends…unless I just feel really crappy that day :p. My skill at the mascara is all right…I’m still learning. I don’t use that as much.

Yay foundation

My skin is currently so dry it’s flaking off and burning and itchy. UGH! It’s misery!!!!!! It really does feel like it’s burning. I want to rip it off at times. :( The skin, I mean.
Anyway, I went to get some super intense moisturizer at Clinique tonight so hopefully it helps it a lot. Hopefully. :( I also got foundation while I was there. I hope that covers up some blemishes as well!!! Next up will be eyes and blush for me. And brows.

I feel so incredibly drabby right now it’s not even funny. I feel like a hobo, most days, even if I realise later that I don’t look like a hobo, but I still feel like one. My body feels heavy on days I don’t get enough sleep or on days I’m stressed.
I just need some external change. Since I can’t afford new clothes at the moment (since I have enough clothes), I should really make use of my extensive collection of make up (extensive enough for someone who never uses it). sigh
I think my goal is to better my method at applying eye shadow and learning how to use mascara (and the curler) adequately. Oh, and blusher.

I mostly want to learn how to do eyes really well! I wish I could do a smokey look but my eye shape doesn’t seem to work well. :( I’m sad. Oh well, I’ll need to figure something out.

I love make up and buying different colors but I hate putting it on. I really rather spend the extra minutes sleeping in the morning.
Advice on how to quickly learn how to apply nicely?
