Well… I’m 19 and, as you may have guessed, no actual Driver’s Licence just yet. Still rocking the learner’s permit. Whoops. I guess I sort of forgot all about this goal, what with school and all. That’s embarrassing.
Realistically, I’m probably not going to get much of a chance to master the art of driving before exams are over at the end of April, but if I can scrape together the $600 I need to take Driver’s Ed between then and September 2012, I should be good to go. Time will tell, I suppose. Let’s see if I can get this done by age 20? Maybe?

So the good news is, as of June, I will have held a learner’s permit for one year, making me eligible for a probationary driver’s license.
The bad news? I can’t actually drive. Where I live, the roads are an impassable sheet of ice for most of the year, and my parents weren’t exactly thrilled with the idea of me getting behind the wheel of a car in bad road conditions. Needless to say, my driving experience is limited.
Now that things have finally thawed, I’m hoping to sign up for some Driver’s Ed courses and get that probationary license by my 19th birthday.
My only problem? My family owns nothing but standard transmission vehicles. Damn you, stick shift. A plague on you!
