Get my taxes done for year end 30 June 2011

Last Friday I went to the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) to obtain the correct lodgement forms for my Tax Returns (2009/10 and 2010/11).

Oops…as I was walking out, I realised I also haven’t done my 2011/12!!!

Now I’ve got THREE returns to do! :-(

Now that I’ve got all the paperwork sorted to be able to complete my 10/11 tax return, all I have to do is sit down & focus on completing the online return.

Seen as I procrasinate and avoid this task so regularly, I’m going to set myself a DATE to DO it!

I WILL complete the return by 25 March.

Okay, so I’ve rummaged through files & got all the paperwork I need together to complete the tax return now. All sitting in a nice, neat pile waiting….waiting…waiting…

I’ve just gotta sit down and do it!

Found out I had to download the Tax Return Forms from the internet (too late to obtain the forms from the post office or newsagency).

So I finally got round to going online, sifting through the Tax Office’s library of mostly useless and unreadable forms and I finally found what I needed – 131 pages of imposing questions!

Printed and now awaiting completion.

I really hope my tardiness with this is not going to get me a fine.

There’s not a lot to my tax return for 2010/11 as I didn’t work the entire year but it’s just that task of going through the pile of paper to find reciepts etc….daunting.

Trying to take advantage of being home today, to get this done.
