convince my class to donate our Commencement Speaker money to charity

It just angers me that a bunch of privileged liberal arts’ school students are willing to shell out tens of thousands of dollars so that moderately famous people can come to Haverford for a day, spout some rhetoric, and receive an honorary degree. I’m going to try to convince people to give “pay” for the head of a major charity to deliver our commencement speech so that the money can be funneled to a good cause (instead of an already rich person’s pocket). Plus, they’ll probably have just as much (if not more) to say than Dave Matthews or another “celebrity”.....
