get over my fear of public speaking

for now!

I am much better at this now!
I have made a lot of progress on this goal!

I won’t ever enjoy speaking in public.
But I can do it if I have to!

At the store I let an employee know that there was a broken glass perfume bottle that needed to be cleaned up!

And they cleaned it up right away!

It made me feel good about myself to speak up!
I didn’t want anybody to get hurt!

Yay me!

I spoke to strangers again today!

OK, they were trying to sell me make-up.
But I needed help.
And I had questions.

Yay me for asking questions!
Asking for help!

And not feeling like a fool!

I am improving!

And this makes me HAPPY & PROUD!

I read a poem out loud at a poetry reading!
Not my poem, but from a book.

Mind you there were less than 10 people in the room, not much of a turnout.

But the fact that I went to the poetry reading by myself makes me HAPPY too!

I just found a poem that I liked & did it!
I didn’t over-think it!

Yay me!

I felt nervous with family lately.
Which is weird.
Kind of felt like public speaking.

Just didn’t feel that closeness that you should feel with family.
Didn’t feel the most comfortable to just completely be myself.

I need to work on this!
Just be ME!

The good thing is I don’t think about it!

I ask for help a lot more!
Instead of just giving up on something that I wanted, no matter how small it may seem.

I am actually asking for help a lot more lately.
The great thing is I am not really thinking about it.
I just come out & ask for help.
Especially at stores I used to just say “No, I’m fine Thank you” even if I really did need help.

Yay-me!!
Still going to keep working on this though.

I talked to a few people yesterday.
I still got a bit tongue tied.

But I had a nice conversation with a cashier. Yay-me
