Not a RTW, but I am seriously considering an RYA sailing course in 2006 in lieu of the amazing (yet unaffordable trip) that I could have made. Just have to persuade the other half to don his sea legs.

Global Challenge 4 years ago

There is a global yacht race each year which lasts approx 6 months and circumnavigates the globe. Anyone can apply and it costs £28K to join the crew if successful in interview/medical etc. There is also the option to complete individual legs for around £6K a stretch. A true exercise in mental and physical endurance.
