The Thanksgiving Address. The Words that come before all else. (and I am not talking turkey here, but the REAL Thanksgiving Address, the year round one)
I am trying to say it in Onyota’a:ka (Oneida) every day now, and it is helping. It is an important way to look at the web of life in its context, all the responsibilities each strand has to the other, and how important it is to be mindful of our responsibilities as guardians of ukwa:nulha ohutsyake (mother earth).
Tane to nu yaw^.

There are days when I feel like a big piece of poo. I might feel depressed, and completely lathargic, and yes, even feel a little bit sorry for myself. Then I meet people who have real problems…people with cancer, people who have lost children, people who come from war torn countries, people who are so margianalized by the rest of the world yet still maintain a sense of well being. These people remind me of how much I have to be thankful for, and remind me to give thanks every day for the many blessings that I have.
